Just wondering if this place is open this year as the web page has not updated. Went here as a kid in the 60s and 70s and have an opportunity this year to go back.

We decided not to go to Parent lake this yr. because it was low and what a mistake. We went
to another camp south near North Bay and we find
out so quickly how spoiled we are at Parent lake.
If the Lake goes up I will plan a trip there in Aug. if not I will sure be back in 2011. I have been at Parent lake now 22 times. Great host in Peg and Wayne.

I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face and a grey dawn breaking.

I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must down to the seas again to the vagrant gypsy life.
To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.

Hi everyone, My brother has been going to Parent Lake for 45 years and this will be my 40th and feel Peggy and Wayne has done the best job yet in running the camp. We know there is fish in the rivers after June 1st when they reopen but there are plenty of fish from the big island and south of the big island so you do not have to go up to the rivers and get the stragglers. Jigs and a worm seem to work best for the walleye. We don't really fish for pike but get a rush when we get a real nice one (10Lbs and over) on a jig without a wire leader. Any question feel free to e-mail me at JPier1148ATaol.com. Hey Rich, your from Buffalo I see, e-mail me.

I've been viewing this guestbook for many months, and I am fed up with the ongoing feud.

Frank, I'm sorry, but you are completely out of line here. Rich's answer to Micah's question was just fine, with no mention of C&R. After going back and looking at everything written, it is you (along with a couple of others) that have repeatedly posted antagonizing entries directed toward Rich, and I wish you would knock it off.

The manager of the lodge has asked twice for this type of behavior to cease. Rich seems to be able to put the past aside and move on. Frank, on the other hand, continues to flame this guestbook, and demonstrates the classic behavior of an internet troll by abusing this guestbook.

I don't know any of you, and have no interest in the C&R issue, fishing, or the lodge. My interest here is studying the web site itself (design, functionality, etc) and nothing more.

Enough said.

See, you just did it again. If it weren't for you, this guest book would be about 15 posts long. Why not email the guy back privately and tell him to fish the rivers and if he catchs something nice to think about releasing it if he isn't going to put it on the wall. I help people out as well, but don't be surprised if you don't see more fish being kept this year- more than last year due to what you just wrote. All I'm saying is if you want paople to catch and release, don't tell them where and how to catch mainly trophies. Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Let a man learn how to fish parent lake and he'll have years of enjoyment.

Wow Frank!! You must have no life at all. I am trying to help a guy out who has never fished the lake and you come back with catch and release. I guess I just expect smart people who catch a big fish to just let it go. An educated fishermen( not like you) realizes the importance of catch and release. Find someone else to bother I am just trying to help out a felow fishermen.
